Mathew Street Festival 2008

Marvin Ruffin performs on the Super Lambbanana stage at the Mathew Street Festival 2008. Marvin made contact with us while we were filming at another event and asked us if we could film him perform at the Mathew Street Festival. The brief was to film using 4 cameras with basic coverage and produce the performance on to 200 DVD's. So we researched the venue and contacted the organisers to get filming permissions and backstage passes. Then we filmed Marvin's 45 minute Soul & Motown set with 1 camera on stage facing out to the crowd, 2 cameras at the front of the stage covering Marvin and the band and then the other camera was used at the side of the stage to cover close up shots of the band playing there instruments.

We filmed Marvins performance at the Mathew Street Festival and edited and produced a master copy for Mavin to check within 2 days. Marvin gave us the ok after watching the master copy and we produced the 200 DVD's the next day and they were delivered the following morning. The whole project from filming to delivering the 200 DVD's with full face print in plastic wallets took only 5 days.

Marvin gave an oustanding performance on the day and the crowd absolutley loved him. We also, really enjoyed working with Marvin and the band who played a really good set. Marvin was born in Detroit, Michigan and is the cousin of Jimmy and David Ruffin from The Temptations. He has recently performed at the 02 in London as support for the Boyz ll Men European Tour and although we didn't film the performance Marvin gave us the master copy for which we edited and produced another 200 DVD's for promotional purposes.
